Estratégias autoprejudiciais de estudantes da pós-graduação stricto sensu da área de negócios

Resumo

Objetivo: investigar quais são as estratégias autoprejudiciais utilizadas por estudantes de pós-graduação stricto sensu na área de negócios nas fases de cumprimento de créditos curriculares e redação de dissertações ou teses.

Método: aplicação da Escala de Estratégias Autoprejudiciais (EEAPREJ) de Boruchovitch et al. (2022) em amostra composta por 528 discentes e egressos dos cursos de pós-graduação stricto sensu em Administração Pública, Administração de Empresas e Ciências Contábeis, com Análise Fatorial Confirmatória e Modelagem de Equações Estruturais.

Resultados: apesar da maioria dos estudantes negar comportamentos autoprejudiciais, práticas como procrastinação e sabotagem aparecem com frequência em momentos críticos da formação, especialmente durante a elaboração de dissertações e teses. A estrutura fatorial da escala foi confirmada, evidenciando três dimensões principais: procrastinação, hiperatividade e sabotagem. Ressaltada a necessidade de intervenções institucionais que promovam apoio psicossocial, visando o bem-estar e mitigando impactos negativos de estratégias autoprejudiciais sobre o desempenho acadêmico.

Contribuições: os achados contribuem para a compreensão dos desafios enfrentados pelos discentes e para o desenvolvimento de políticas de saúde mental e atenção psicossocial, ampliando o entendimento sobre padrões de atividades autoprejudiciais e implicações à formação acadêmica e profissional dos discentes de pós-graduação. Ao evidenciar que estratégias autoprejudiciais persistem, mesmo entre indivíduos experientes, o estudo aponta para a necessidade de intervenções institucionais voltadas à promoção de competências de autorregulação, saúde mental e gestão do estresse, mitigando impactos desses comportamentos sobre o desempenho acadêmico. Atividades autoprejudiciais são observadas na elaboração de teses e dissertações, exatamente no momento em que todo investimento pessoal e financeiro já foi concretizado.
